City Vibes & Random Joys 🌳

Patio de Marruecos

I stumbled upon the sweetest little garden one day, where these sleek black bees were buzzing away. The wind made capturing their quick movements almost impossible, but I didn’t mind—I was too busy enjoying the moment.

Think Buenos Aires is packed with wild nightclubs? Not quite. These ‘Discos’ you see everywhere are just grocery stores. But hey, who says a well-stocked fridge isn’t worth celebrating?

Meet my new favorite tree: the palo borracho (a.k.a. ‘drunken stick’). She guards her delicate flowers with rows of fierce thorns, as if daring anyone to take them. Mother Nature’s own ‘look but don’t touch’ policy.

Street Art & Unexpected Lessons 📸

5 Unexpected Things I Learned

  • You have to make peace with the discomfort of people staring if you set up a mini-studio on the restaurant table
  • Although much of my art is portraits, I really don’t enjoy taking photographs of people. They feel like two totally different realms.
  • Relaxing into street photography when you’re constantly on guard is a bit of a challenge. Finding the balance between caution and creativity is a work in progress.
  • Sometimes, it’s better to put your camera down and be in the moment. (You can read about the time I regretted NOT doing this.)
  • Just because it’s blurry, doesn’t mean it has no value. Some imperfect shots capture a moment better than a perfectly sharp one. For example, trying to capture fast-moving black bees on a windy made me so very happy.

The Weird & Wonderful 🎭

I had a blast playing with cherries, and by the end of the shoot, I couldn’t help but call it La Escena del Crimen (The Scene of the Crime). Take a look—I think you’ll see why.

Final Thoughts

These moments made Buenos Aires unforgettable. I may not be an expert photographer YET, but capturing these bits of life brought me joy so I’m definitely on the right path.
